Dear Off-Grid Energy Stakeholders,
We are pleased to announce the 4th International Off-Grid Lighting Conference and Exhibition, organized jointly by the Global Off-Grid Lighting Association and the World Bank Group under Lighting Global. We will be delighted to welcome you to our largest event yet, this coming 26th to 29th October 2015 in Dubai.
The newly established off-grid solar lighting community gathered on a global level for the first time in 2007. Since then, the sector has experienced rapid growth and evolved into a diverse set of companies delivering energy services through a range of technologies and business models. Continuous product innovation has enabled improved service and affordability, triggering an expanding market and enabling millions of people to climb the “energy access ladder”. Sales are soaring. Promising new companies are emerging in this landscape, while existing firms are growing and evolving their businesses. As the market has matured, investors and financial institutions are taking increasingly larger stakes in the industry, fueling the industry’s scale-up.
The 4th International Off-Grid Lighting Conference and Exhibition is the premier platform to showcase these developments. Anyone interested in the direction the industry is taking – from investors, technology providers, service companies, distributors to development institutions, will find the best view available from Dubai in October 2015. The key players will debate the direction of pay-as-you go business models, product quality assurance, finance and investment, emerging market channels, partnerships, the role of telecoms in off-grid markets, product innovation for solar and DC appliances, and the role of donor funding as we define the future directions of the market in Dubai. Manufacturers will demonstrate technology trends, while distributors operating deep at the last mile will share their business challenges. We will use this unique assembly to discuss how we can strengthen the sector, and tell the world about the impacts we realize with credibility.
In 2015, access to energy is in the spotlight at a number of occasions, including the UNESCO 2015 International Year of Light and the COP 21 climate summit in Paris. The dynamic off-grid lighting and electrification industry plays a key role in these important initiatives of the global community. As the world looks to catalyze electricity access to enable economic and social development, our industry lies at the heart of the solution. We firmly believe that if businesses and governments work together, universal access to electricity in 2030 should be attainable.
Join us in making this vision a reality. Join us in Dubai.
