Head of Policy at SolarAid
Charlie Miller is Head of Policy at SolarAid. He advises governments, aid agencies, foundations and investors on policy, grantmaking and investment in the off-grid energy space. As co-chair of the Global Off-Grid Lighting Association’s Policy Working Group, Charlie has been integral to efforts to shape policy and attract investment to the sector since 2012. He has co-authored a series of industry positions on topics such as the use of public funding, subsidies, tariffs and free light giveaways. He helped to attract over $100 million to the industry in 2014, speaking at investor engagement events in London and Zurich. Charlie previously worked for a range of leading development agencies on issues such as livelihoods, health, education and governance. He holds a Masters in Conflict, Governance and Development from the University of York.
