David ten Kroode

Manager of Oikocredit International’s renewable energy unit.

David ten Kroode joined Oikocredit in mid-2014 as the manager of Oikocredit International’s renewable energy unit. Prior to joining Oikocredit, David worked as senior vice president energy with Key Equipment Finance, part of KeyBank, in the US. There he started a business unit in renewable energy financing which provided financing to enterprises wanting to invest in renewable energy systems. Before moving to the US, David worked for KeyBank in The Netherlands as an equipment leasing specialist.

At Oikocredit he is responsible for building the renewable energy portfolio to diversify Oikocredit’s €1 Billion balance sheet in mainly microfinance. We focus our loans and investments on solar, wind, (small) hydropower and biomass projects in developing countries. Oikocredit provides both debt and equity financing to organizations and projects that are financially sustainable, create a positive social impact for disadvantaged people and protect the environment.

David holds a Masters in Economics from the University of Amsterdam.
