Director and In-charge for Solar lighting and Pumping Programme at national Level
Dr. Gaddipati Prasad received Masters Degree in Physics from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India. He also received Doctorate Degree in Liquid Junction Solar Cells from the same University. In 1989 , he had joined Department of Non-Conventional Energy(Presently Ministry of New & Renewable Energy), Govt. of India as Scientific Officer and worked in various capacities at regional offices of the Department at Lucknow, Chennai and Hyderabad before moving to Delhi. He also worked at Solar Energy Centre (Now National Institute of Solar Energy), Gurgaon, India and responsible for creation of LED lab for Solar Lighting Systems. From 2009, he is looking after Off Grid and Decentralised Solar applications which include lighting and pumping programmes. During his tenure the size of programme has increased from 8MW to 300MW per annum. Presently he is in the capacity of Director and In-charge for Solar lighting and Pumping Programme at national Level.
